There are plenty of activities perfectly suited for dreadful weather similar to yesterday's. Read a book. Watch a movie. Huddle by a fireplace to stop shivering. Of course, those all involve staying indoors and out of the rain, wind and mud.
For most people, running 3.1 miles in the elements is at the bottom of the want-to-do list. Colonial Forge senior Kaylan Comer (pictured right by John Herzog), however, doesn't agree.
"I love this weather," Comer said. "It's definitely cross country weather."
Comer embraced the miserable conditions as she glided across the rain-soaked course at the Commonwealth District Cross Country Championships at Willowmere Park.
