Who Wins? Noah Lyles vs. Andrew Hunter in an 800m Race?

Speed Kills

To start let's take a look at Noah's PR's (Profile)

  • 100m- 10.14** State Record
  • 200m- 20.18** State Record, #3 All-time in US
  • 300m- 33.32** #7 All-time in US
  • 400m- 47.50 (open), 45.4 (FAT split)

Of course the sprinter in this "distance race" is going to be the underdog but c'mon! Did everyone forget about the Penn Relays already? For those that may have forgotten just remember that at 11:30am Noah split a 45.60 (FAT), at 1:50pm ran on the 4x100, and then came back at 5:30pm to split 45.40! If that isn't an ability to fight off lactic acid and the perfect example of lactic threshold and aerobic ability then we do not know what is.

Those may be hours apart yes, but let's also look at his workout prior to states where he ran repeats of 450m's and came through in 52... That is Drew's PR in the 400.

Let's keep it 100%, Noah is the fastest athlete ever from out state. He can sit & kick or open in a 52 and cruise the final 400... the choice is his really.
