Coach Touks, National Coach of The Year!

Earlier this week we had a huge victory for Virginia Track & Field when Western Branch's Claude Toukene (Touks) was selected as USAToday's High School Boys T&F Coach of the Year! This follows winning NSAF's National Coach of the Year award in 2014. For the official article click here.

Touks had one heck of a season and his Bruins dominated the state in track. His girls have now won a staggering 4 state team titles in a row and average a 100pt margin of victory. His boys' team was runner-ups both indoors and outdoors.

All year Touks spoke about how talented his boys team was despite being statistically well behind his girls team but at New Balance Nationals this year they really turned that around by bringing home national titles in the Swedish Relay, 4x100, and Shuttle Hurdle Relay. Micaiah Harris (sophomore) has also really blossomed at the right time this season and will be competing for Team USA at Worlds in Cali, Colombia this week alongside Amanda Thomas.

Touks has been at Western Branch for 11 years and counting and accumulated 13 state team titles and 10 runner-ups.
