#6: The Lyles Sweep @NBON!

An athlete winning a national title is a big deal. An athlete from Virginia winning one is an even bigger deal and having two brothers sweep the sprints is bigger then anything we could have thought of. This year at New Balance Outdoor Nationals the Lyles brothers did just that and took the nation by storm.

Older brother, Noah, definitely has the quicker wheels and was favored more then his brother despite his brother, Josephus, being the defending national champion at 400. Noah was favored in the 200 and the second seed in the 100. He may have got a little lucky though as top seeded Ryan Clark false started in the final and opened the door for Noah. Noah captured that moment, in the pouring rain and won the title in state record time. He went on to also win the 200 in another state record time.

Josephus once again was at it in the 400 and opened up very strong to create a lead just as he did a year ago. It was all his race as he powered through the tape and celebrated with his brother. It was only a matter of minutes but those minutes between Noah and Josephus winning national titles is something that has never happened before and may not happen again, unless they decide they want to win them again next year.
