MARTINSVILLE, VA - Martinsville sophomore distance star Anna Chase will not be taking part in this year's indoor and outdoor track season in Virginia because she will be taking her running talent across the Atlantic Ocean. Chase will be spending one semester abroad in Germany as a foreign exchang student. Chase who is one of the state's rising young stars with numerous All-State honors as well as personal bests of a 5:06 1600m, 10:45 3200m, and 18:23 5K under her belt and should not miss a step in training while in Germany. She will be training and competing with the prestigious track club TSV Bayer Leverkusen, one of the top notch track clubs in Germany. While in Germany, Chase will coached by 1500m Olympic bronze medalist Paul-Heinz Wellmann.
