Counting Down The Top 10 Track Stars
#7 Micaiah Harris (Western Branch)

If you want to talk about someone primed for a huge season, you gotta start talking about University of Texas commit Micaiah Harris. He enters this indoor season at US #1 in the 300 with his 33.87 best from last year's VaTech Invite out of the unseeded section.

He went on to run 20.77 in the 200m outdoors to make the IAAF U20 World Championship team for the United States. That time ranks fifth all-time in VA only behind the Lyles brothers, Mustaqeem Williams, and LaShawn Merritt.

Being a part of the Western Branch tradition has its ups and down when you are fast. As a program they center around team events and the relays. Only if you can seriously win a national title or take down a state record do you get to run individually late in the post-season at Nationals.

Because of that lack of major competition during the season it looks from the outside like Micaiah is not as fast as he is. The truth though is that he is much faster that it even shows on paper. He is going to run 20.3 in the 200 this year and come very close to 33 flat in the 300.

Micaiah is one of the biggest stars in the entire nation this year and will be both a hurdler and sprint star on the national stage.
