It seems impossible for anyone as fast as Kaitlyn Davis to be intimidated by cross country competition. As a sophomore last fall, she finished third at states in North Carolina's second-largest classification. If anything, she's the intimidator.
But when Davis transferred to Mountain View this year, she was unsure whether she could maintain her prowess. She compared the fastest times in Virginia and North Carolina and became anxious when she realized Virginia's generally were faster.
After experiencing the competition first hand, though, she is at ease again. The latest calming influence was her easy victory yesterday at The Free Lance-Star All-Area meet at Culpeper High. Read full story from Fredericksburg Free-Lance Star
