Wait, What? Britton Wilson Ran a 300H & 800 Double?

Check out Britton Wilson's Athlete Profile

There are generally two type of great athletes. The first and more common is having someone who is good at multiple events. They never rise to national prominence but they are all around a great athlete. The other type are athletes who are the real deal at one or two events.

Britton Wilson started out as the latter but in just a couple months has become a superstar transcending both types of great athletes. This weekend, she solidified that move.

Just up the road from her high school, at the Tiger Invitational, the Mills Godwin sophomore hurdled her way to a state leading 43.02 performance in the 300H. That time is just off of the 42.19 Virginia sophomore record set 19 years ago by Sheena Johnson (Gar Field).

That performance was impressive considering it was her first time ever hurdling!

If that wasn't enough, roughly 20 minutes later she finished a solid third place in a VA #18 2:25 performance in the 800. That time shows everyone that if she runs fresh she is capable of breaking 2:20 as a sophomore with a lot of speed.

We may not have to wait long though to see that open 800 with the James River Invite coming this weekend.

Check back next weekend for video coverage of Britton's races.
