Barbara Strehler, the state leader in the 3200 meter run (10:58.42) and private school state champion two weeks ago in the 1600 and 1000 meter run, will be concluding her indoor season tonight in pursuit of a sub 5 mile at the Eastern State Championships held at the New York Armory.Strehler ( pictured left by John Herzog), a senior at Trinity Episcopal in Richmond, will be not be competing in outdoor track for the second year in a row since she competes in lacrosse in the spring. This will be Strehler's last year of lacrosse though as she heads to UVA next fall on a scholarship for cross country and track.

She will be in a loaded race with several top distance runners from the state of New York and New Jersey as her personal best time of 5:03 two weeks ago at the VISAA State Championships ranks her as the 8th seed in the 1600 meter run tonight at 9:30 PM. Strehler ran a personal best time in the 1000 this past weekend at the Prep League/LIS Championships in 2:57 at St. Christopher's.
