Girls' Team Preview
Just like the guys we have our state's biggest team in action this weekend. In fact, we have nine out of ten of the preseason Top 10 teams in action this weekend. Our preseason leaders, Blacksburg, will face off with preseason #3 Oakton and #9 Hidden Valley this weekend making for a big time showdown of what could be the 4A, 6A, and 3A state team champion this fall. All that action will be at Knights Crossing.
Up at the Monroe Parker Invitational we will see James Madison, Lake Braddock, and now 6A powerhouse George C. Marshall all squaring off on the historic Burke Lake Park 2.98 mile course.
Down in the 757 will be another big meet with Maggie Walker, Tabb, Mechville, and Hickory all vying for an early season win. Though this course is not the fastest course in the state, it is still going to be a fast meet with these big names and perfect weather.
Now in Richmond it will also be a state meet preview with Cosby, Grafton, Midlothian, and Fauquier who are all attempting their own underdog bids this November.
And not to be forgotten will be the Loudoun Valley girls headed up to PA for the PTXC Invitational. With all the attention on the boys these ladies have quietly built a team capable of big things and it starts this weekend. We should know more after they finally show us what they can do.
