Albemarle Made History With Sweep of 5D Team Titles

PANORAMA FARMS, Va. - In their penultimate race of the season and in their final race on their home course the Albemarle varsity squads took care of business in historic fashion. The teams led by Ryann Helmers and Josh Fard took home regional titles in a sweep. This was not only their first sweep of regional XC titles but the first regional team title on the girls' side in program history.

Though they are underdogs, this dominating performance both on the girls and guys side makes a great case for both teams to place highly at states this Friday. They will face tough competition but you must factor in that they have run on hillier course and will be ready for PR's at states.

The girls won the meet with 28 points while the boys scored 32.
