This James Monroe thrower will certainly go down as one of the best throwers in the state's history. Not only does Alexis Clark sit at VA #4 all-time in the event but she also has been one of the most consistently great athletes around.
Last weekend she notched her 7th overall state title and third indoor shot put title in a row. She won the 3A event with a put of 46-4.75. That mark alone would rank 4th all-time in the state and is the second best performance ever at a state meet in VA.

The second number that is very impressive is her 173-6.5 total. That total is the distance she has thrown at states over her high school career. That is an average of 43-4.5 per state meet competition, you could make a safe bet that no one has ever come close to that level of consistency.
