One of the rarest feats ever in track in VA is having a six foot high jumper on the girls' side. We could really see that this season with 5-11 high jump Sydney Banks inching ever closer to that big mark.

Sydney jumped on to the scene three years ago in a big way and hasn't looked back. She has won three state titles in five tries and owns bests of 5-11 and 5-10.5 outdoors and indoors. This past indoor season she won yet another state title and improved her previous indoor best by .5 inches.
This season though is going to be even more important for her. She is moving towards a very elite mark that puts her in contention for every national and state title in the high jump, a special mark as a junior. She has improved two inches, two inches, one inch, and half an inch between her five seasons in high school in that order.
