Colonial Forge Does The Impossible & Gets 4 Guys Under 50!

Having one sub 50 second guy is impressive in itself, having four guys under that mark is incredible. That is exactly what Colonial Forge did this past weekend when Jonathan Gray and Rafael Mas broke the 50 second barrier at the Glen Allen Invitational.

These two teammates join Zach Kindel and Johnnie Walker who had broke that mark earlier this year and last year as well. In total their team average is the second fastest in the state (behind L.C. Bird) at 49.75.

What is truly special about this team is their consistency in the open 400. Though other teams have definitely run faster 4x4's, none that we could find had four different guys under the 50 second barrier in the open quarter. That type of consistency is why they finished as All-Americans indoors in the 4x400m relay.

Indoors they were one of the fastest relay teams ever in VA and outdoors they will chase that same history. This most certainly will end up with them facing off with Western Branch who set the state record indoors or with L.C. Bird who averages a 49.61 so far this year.
