A look at the top returning teams in each Group AAA region & district based off of 2008 cross country 5K performances.
Coach Dave Davis (pictured left by John Herzog) has been successful at the many schools that he has coached at during his long and accomplished coaching career and his time at Mountain View has been no exception since the school opened several years ago. He also had a great individual runner to work with at the new school from its inception in Thomas Porter, who just wrapped up a stellar high school career with three Foot Locker National appearances (including a 3rd place in 2008), three state titles, and a sub 9 minute two mile to finish. Mountain View's top runner Porter may have graduated, but virtually the rest of the team is in tact from a year ago which was just two points shy of a podium finish in the AAA state cross country race to make them as a preseason favorite to win the school's first state title this November behind the guidance of Coach Davis.
