Is Edward Cerne The Guy To Beat This Season?

There are multiple things that go into making a star runner. The first is talent, the second is coaching, the third is having training partners, and the final is having something to push you to that next level. Cerne definitely has all of those and then some heading into this season.

After finishing 6th at states last year Cerne was on a mission to improve each day and now it looks like it could very well be his turn to shine. He enters the season with a 3 Mile best of 14:58 and a 5K best of 15:12.

We are uncertain of which meets Braddock will race at this year but from what we saw late in the outdoor season we know Cerne is on another level. By the end of that season he ultimately ran 1:53 for the open 800, that speed and range means it should be a very good year for the Bruin senior.

He will have company in 6A by some guys from the North and South but being a Lake Braddock Bruin carries a lot of weight. It means he has great coaches, great support, and many training partners.

The writing is on the wall that this should be a huge season for Cerne, the question is though will he be able to finally win that state title, will he break 15 minutes this year, and will his team once again dominate the state meet. Luckily we get to find out these next few months.
