Chancellor Invitational Girls Recap

This tough course was not an issue for these star athletes. Leading the way the entire way was Allison Fick who successfully defended her 2017 title. Her time of 19:41 won the race and was 16 seconds ahead of teammate Mckenzi Watkins' 19:57. Forge went on to win the team title as well with 50 points.

Race Videos - Photo Coverage

As expected in the race it was Fick, Watkins, Ellie Desmond, and Isabelle Gulgert from the start. As the race progressed and the heat index rose it became evident that many of these athletes were having a not-so-easy day at the office.

That was when Allison and Mckenzi were able to really make a move and separate from the field. They did that successfully and the final mile it was these two teammates together.

Meet Results

Down the final hill and loop it was still close but Allison refused to lose today and closed out strongly to win the race. Her teammate held on for a strong second place with Gulgert finishing third. Desmond who was in that early pack fell back to sixth.

Freshman Jessica Neal (Battlefield) finished 9th in 21:04.

In the team battle it really was all Colonial Forge who put three girls inside the top 10 and could have still won the meet with their 6-7 runners instead. South Lakes wasn't too shabby either with their 85 points for second. Patriot finished third with 95 points with a very young team so keep an eye on them as well.
