VHSL Class 5
In Class 5 there are three sophomores who not only have a shot at a state title but at winning multiple state titles. In the jumps you have Jordan Hardy (Hampton) and Jahnelle Saunders (Bethel). Both lead one of their events and also both rank high in the long jump. Jahnelle is a state champion but that was for Class 3 a year ago.
Also with a chance to win is L.C. Bird's Jacob Plummer who could provide some critical points for the Skyhawks. He is seeded 2nd in the 3200 and 3rd in the 1600 but only a second or two off the pace. He peaked strong at XC States and we are expecting that again this weekend.
