Jayson Ward
First up is Jayson Ward of LC Bird. He enters the outdoor season after finishing second in the state meet in the 500 (1:05.48) and as the EE 400m champion at NBNI (49.73). He was also an integral part of the LC Bird 3:20 4x400 which finished second at the VA Showcase to national record setting Bullis.
The big thing here is going to be his stellar range and even as a freshman his experience too. Don't be surprised if he is actually vying for the 400m title this season as a freshman.
He does have some strong 300m speed but we are not positive if he will be a 200m runner as well or more of an 400-800 athlete. Regardless though he has plenty of time to find his space on top of the winners' stand.
