Virginia high's Kelsey Harrington is quickly becoming one of the fastest distance runners in the state's history. She ends her junior campaign, this year, with a 4:57 pr in the 1600 and a 10:37 personal best in the 3200.
She ran both of those times to win the VHSL Class 2 state titles earlier this month.
Two weeks later she ran at New Balance Nationals where she pr'd in the Mile and Two Mile. She ran 5:06.33 and 10:43.71 in the emerging elite divisions.
The exciting thing though is that she was only a junior this year and that we could really see something special come cross country season this fall. She missed last year's season but this year she is ready to travel and face the best competition in the entire state. She could be the next sub 18 girl from Virginia.
