Britton Wilson Now A National Champion & Ready For U20's

With a flip of a coin Britton Wilson and her coach chose just hours before what event she would run at New Balance Nationals. The choice came down to the 400 meter dash and the 400 meter hurdles. The coin landed on tails and that meant she was going for the 400 meter hurdles title.

Sunday came around and she was ready.

Britton's event was the first of Sunday's seeded action and she opened it up in a big way for Team VA. She blasted out of the blocks and made up the stagger by the fourth hurdle. After that she was off to the races.

Ultimately she drove down the finish line and crossed the line in 56.77. That time ranks US No. 8 All-Time and is VA No. 2 All-Time as well.

That time though could only be a preamble as she is also running the 400mH this weekend down in Florida at the USATF's U20 Championships. This will give her the opportunity to race not only the great high school runners but also collegiate athletes younger than 20 years old as well. That added competition could push her to an even faster time.

Britton Wilson ends her high school career with numerous state titles and with the state records in the 500 & 400, and has once chance to lower her 400mH PR below 56.16 to also hold that record.  .
