One of the stars in Virginia ready for a huge breakthrough year is Loudoun Valley's Taylor Ney. He enters the season having only run for one year but already boasts a 15:37 personal best and get this... has run 4:18 for the 1600.
Ney started his junior campaign last year at the PTXC Invitational and ran a 16:59. Just three meets later and he was a sub 15:40 guy.
Since then he has finished 9th at States, run under 16:30 five times, and improved his times in nearly every event in track.
When looking for someone to breakthrough you look for talent, drive, and an event. Taylor has all of those in the 5K this cross country season.
