Class 1 Girls XC State Meet Preview (10/9 Edition)

Another exciting race at States this year is going to be the Class 1 girls competition. This year we have a rare thing with two previous state champions competing. First there will be Morgan Dalton who is the defending champion and second there is Rachel Weghorst the 2017 champion.

Both of these girls are going to battle with the likes of Catherine Grossman and Anna Kuchan for the title.

There is one big favorite though and that is Kensey May who was second a year ago. This sophomore is looking for her first XC title and will have to make sure to beat those proven champions.

Team wise things are interesting also. Galileo was third a year ago and leads the way this year. Last year's team runners-up Parry McCluer, comes in at fourth, and last year's champion Auburn enters as third currently. Add in second ranked George Wythe and you see why this one is going to be exciting.
