Glory Days Grill Recap: The 6A Race Just Got A lot Closer

Just when you think you have things all figured out, October rolls around and everything changes. That was the case after the times from Glory Days were posted this past weekend.

Up first was the girls' race. This race was a close one with McKinstry of Centreville notching her first invitational win and a nice season PR of 18:52 to finally break the 19 minute barrier.

She was however just one second ahead Gillian Busheee, only a freshman from Herndon. Third place was Zoe Edelman of Washington Latin (DC).

Over in the boys' race we got to watch our first of potentially three or even four big battles between the NOVA stars.

Taking home the title this time (15:45) was Velikonja who currently is the favorite for the Class 6 race but his closest rivals are not too far away. Stuck was second in 15:50 and his teammate Sam Pritchard was fifth in 15:56.

Making his was up to the top group and just one second off of his PR was Colin McCauley of Herndon.

The addition of McCauley in the mix makes things quite interesting considering any one of these four guys could be the state champion in just one month. They do have some company but all of them rank inside the top 10 in their classification right now.
