Updated Power Rankings: VA Top 15 Individuals

Here are the updated individual power rankings (week eight) just ahead of the post-season.

2019 XC Boys VA Indiv. Rankings

RANKATHLETE/TEAMCOMMENTS
1
His fast and solid victory at MileStat XC solidifies his place as the #1 in our list. Yes, he ranks #2 in the state but also has run these times solo... to maintain it he will need to run faster at FLS and make the Foot Locker team.
2
Carlos and many of the LV team are more centered around the long-term goal of winning a third NXN title... that means we may have not seen Carlos at 100% yet as it relates to his training and a taper in the mileage.
3
Joe, the defending state champion for Class 3, has recently shown some us that he is still the guy to beat but that competition is also getting closer. His performances at regionals and states will dictate if he moves down or up one spot.
4
Jack has been running his best races recently and honestly is just a hair away from that third spot on this list. His performance at states and regionals and even NXR could move him up one or two spots.
5
Bryce makes a big jump thanks to very solid performances at GAXC and MileStat XC. He is one of the guys to watch as he currently is a dark horse for the Foot Locker team.
6
Taylor consistently has shown us that he is the real deal. Though he is a few seconds behind Carlos, he could be the top finisher for Class 4 this year.
7
Albert is smartly watching his race schedule this season with a strong focus on Foot Locker and States. That inactivity is great for the long term but hurts him here by just one place.
8
Jake entering the season looked like someone to watch, now we know he cannot be missed. He currently ranks as our top guy in Class 5.
9
Sean has had some good and great races recently. His state meet performance though needs to be his best yet.
10
Colby has race a lot and shown us that he is once again one of the guys to beat in VA... he even is one of our outside picks for Foot Locker. He is now our #2 though for Class 5.
11
Kellen is the third ranked LV athlete and now makes it two years in a row that LV has had three guys appear on this list.
12
Sam is known for his XC running and is the top returning finisher from last year's Class 6 states. That reputation and solid running this season hold his place on this list.
13
Miles, running unattached this season, has fallen a few spots but is still one of the best in the state.
14
Colin maintains his spot thanks to solid running against important NOVA competition. He is definitely someone who will be in the conversation for that Class 6 state title.
15
Branden's times at meets like Albemarle should not be overlooked. Running times like he is doing on courses like Albemarle is something that should be turning heads.

2019 XC Girls VA Indiv. Rankings

RANKATHLETE/TEAMCOMMENTS
1
Kelsey has remained the girl to beat these past four weeks. Though she has not faced any tough competition, she has taken down solid course records and really put herself in the talks of making the Foot Locker team.
2
Bethany on the other hand has faced competition in multiple races and in all but one has been undefeated. She is one course record (State course) away from regaining her spot at number one.
3
Aniya was one of our dark horses for the season and now she is one of the superstars and favorites. She will be facing Graham and company at States and honestly she could win.
4
MC has shown us glimpses of greatness all season but last weekend she showed us what we knew she was capable of. She is back to her top form and could make the Foot Locker team.
5
Ricky and her teammates are saving themselves for NXR, that is for sure, so we can't pin down exactly how well she is running but regardless she is one of the best in the state.
6
Kaitlynn has been struggling to remain at 100% this season but has put together some solid performances thus far.
7
Winning Albemarle and going under 18 at Panorama is no joke. Not to mention she also beat quite a few of the girls on this list. We are waiting to see two or three of these great races back to back before she cracks into the top five. She could also take home the Class 4 state title and really have a big jump.
8
Audrey made a huge jump at MileStat XC and joins our list from unranked to number eight.
9
Just like with her LV teammate, Fetterolf, her drop is from inactivity and others racing all out around her. Her times though warrant her staying on this list whether they are at 100% or not.
10
Julia is having one of her most solid seasons to date but also is facing stronger and faster competition than she has seen in recent years.
11
Alli ran well at Albemarle and at Running with the Wolves, she didn't get that super fast time at MileStat but is definitely one of the outsiders who could pull off the upset at the Class 4 states.
12
Maeve is making a name for herself and is the second ranked girl from the 757. If she can remain healthy and not get sick like last year she could very well fight for that Class 5 state title.
13
Jette has raced some fast courses this year and held her own against the strong competition she has faced.
14
Kensey ran a nice PR at MileStat and is ready to chase her first state title.
15
Lindsey has turned in solid times all season, the question remains whether she has a big performance in her back pocket or not to come
