The 2020 VHSL Class 3/4 State Indoor Championships is moving to Lynchburg and will be VA's first indoor state meet run on a banked track since 2005 when VT played host to the AA state meet. There is a tradeoff however.
Yes, times will be much quicker on this surface and there will be absolutely no issues with every student-athlete being able to watch the meet. Overall this is a huge move for both Class 3/4 and our sport as a whole.
The big tradeoff though is that the meet will be contested on Monday/Tuesday March 2nd and 3rd. This was a tradeoff the VHSL had to make because of a prior contract for use of LU's facility. It does mean though that Class 1/2 are now on Friday/Saturday at Roanoke College.
