Mathieu Masse-Pelletier Moves Up To 30th All-Time

Woodberry Forest's Mathieu Masse-Pelletier had quite the past weeks. In just those two weeks he won the Prep league title with a career best 58-6 and then followed it up a week later with a 57-4.75 to win the VISAA State title.

His earlier mark is a VA #1 this season and also ranks 30th all-time in the state. His 57-4.75 was a state meet record for VISAA.

Though many eyes will be on him outdoors to see if he can break the 60 foot barrier, his real event may be the discus.

Last year he launched a 171-4 at VISAA in the discus and ran a 11.87 in the 100m dash. Those marks combined with his shot put show us he is fast, strong, and explosive. Those three things make him a triple threat in the discus and hammer throw if he were to compete in that outdoors or in college.

The 60 foot barrier will likely get eclipsed either at indoor nationals or outdoors but the real thing to watch will be if he can launch the disc over 200 feet too.
