Meets Coming Together To Make One Big July Invite

Meet administrators, timers, and officials from all around the Commonwealth of Virginia are coming together to help put on at least one meet for high school athletes who unfortunately will not have the season they planned for. One of the biggest partners of this meet are the meet managers of The VA Showcase indoor meet.

Summer Showcase's July Meet Page

This meet will be held on the grounds of the University of Virginia on Friday, July 10th. The meet is scheduled to begin at 9:00am and will feature all the normal outdoor events plus a few added ones.

This meet is open to all high school athletes and teams (Class of 2020-2023) Since this meet is not sanctioned by the NFHS or VHSL it means athletes must compete unattached and/or under a club name. The meet page has an FAQ section that meet management put together and should answer many of the questions you have, it definitely helped us!

Meet management already has serious interest from VA's best programs and some of the best programs from DC/MD/NC amongst others interested in competing. The meet page opened registration this week and already has nearly 20 teams entered including The Western Branch Club Team and 800m national champion Michaela Rose.

"The goal of this meet is to provide a chance for all those athletes who wanted to break a record or chase a PR, we hope this gives them something to work towards and we know it will be a great meet and very competitive too." - Meet Management

One of the best things we found on the meet page was the fact that they are not even taking entry fees for this meet until late June to allow athletes and teams the chance to make sure the meet will actually happen before they start accepting payments.
