August 31, 2013 - Few Maryland teams officially kick off their season before the calendar flips to September, but Virginia holds a couple of annual invitationals that occasionally fall upon the final weekend of August. In 2013, the Good Counsel boys traveled down to the Chancellor Invitational in Fredericksburg and put on a terrific performance led by senior Collin Crilly.

The defending WCAC champion broke away from the pack mid-race and wound up putting 20 seconds on the rest of the field. It was more than enough to lead the Falcons to a win over the runners-up from Millbrook. Much of that Good Counsel varsity team was made up of underclassmen who would go on to form one of the state's top teams in the fall of 2015.
