Middle School National Championships Are Coming This Fall

The start of a three-meet Middle School National Championship series is coming this fall, and it will began with the Middle School Cross Country National Championships in November in Louisville, Kentucky.

The series will continue with the Middle School Indoor Championships in March of 2022 in Virginia Beach, Virginia, and will conclude with the Middle School Outdoor Championships in June of 2022 in a location yet to be announced in Florida.

The series will have two divisions, with athletes in the fifth-, sixth-, seventh-, and eighth-grade competing directly in the eighth-under division, while those athletes from fourth- to sixth-grades will compete in sixth-under division.

"MileSplit has shown a commitment to cover our sport from the biggest invitational to a local dual meet, it is that passion that makes them the ideal partner to stream and promote these national championships," meet management said.

"After years of work we are excited to make these events a reality. There have been age-group championships and high school championships that featured middle school races before, but until now there has never been a true national championship focused solely on middle school. We are excited to provide that opportunity to athletes from all across the nation starting this November. Our championships will be centered around three simple principles: being fun, being accessible, and being for the athletes first and foremost."
