MileSplit IL Recruiting News: Rylee Lydon Leads 1st Charge

We predicted the class of 2023 would be a very good one in terms of recruitment catchment last spring near the tail end of the class of 2022 signing period. From our judgment, it appeared that we had one of the deepest and most talented junior classes on record. Tatum David (Olney Richland County) announced her commitment to the University of Virginia several weeks ago as of its distance running catches.

Another sparkling student-athlete to be connected is Rylee Lydon of Crystal Lake (Prairie Ridge).

Lydon completed an extraordinary junior campaign by setting personal bests in nine events (100, 200, 800, 100HH, HJ, LJ, SP, Hept, Jav) and won the large class (3A) high jump with a clearance of 5'9." Lydon is also a high-level individual competitor in many of the events listed above, but it will be the heptathlon that will be her bread and butter at the next level according to club coach Brandon Stryganek. After an onslaught of attention from many colleges, Lydon has chosen the University of Texas A&M University as her next stop for academics and athletics.
