Jamestown alum Colley finishes 3rd at USATF XC Nationals junior race

Andrew Colley, the 2008 VHSL Group AA state cross country champion from Jamestown High School, earned himself a spot on the US junior team for the World Cross Country Championships via his third place time of 24:16 in the junior men's 8K race at the USATF Cross Country Nationals in Spokane, Washington this past weekend. Colley is currently a freshmen at North Carolina State and his third place showing on Saturday is one of the best performances by a current or former Virginia high school runner in the junior races at the US Nationals in recent history. Colley joins the likes of Bobby Lockhart (2001), Fleet Hower (2003), and Christo Landry (2005) as the only Virginians from this past decade to have earned a spot on the World Cross Country Championships team for the United States.
