Day Two For Team VA at NBNI

The second day at The Track at New Balance in Boston saw many of our up-and-coming stars doubling back from yesterday while the states stars beginning their meet's. Isaac Richardson (Ocean Lakes) bounced back from the Freshman 400 yesterday to run a PR in the Freshman boys 800 in 2:02.35. His teammate, Fenton Millioin came back from the Freshman Mile the night before to run 2:03.61. Both were Team VA's top finishers in the event.

Following the trend of doubling back, Petra Gruendel (Robinson) ran a 2:22.28 good enough for 22nd in the Freshman Girls 800. Gunner Hammett, a middle-schooler, doubled back from the 400 yesterday to run 2:00.90, good enough for 3rd in the Middle School 800.

Andrew Salvodon continued his tremendous season running 46.76 out of heat 5 to finish 2nd and advance to the final of the Boys Championship 400. Harry Economon was the fastest non- qualifier from Team VA with an indoor PR of 48.41.

Junior Sophie Rambo (Grassfield) leads all qualifiers in the Girls Championship 400 with a US#1 53.23. Sophomore Julia Wallace (South County) ran a season best 55.97. Both Championship 400s will run tomorrow with boys at 2:38 and girls at 2:45.

In the boys 2-mile, Junior Trent Daniels (Gainesville) finished 4th earning All-American honors in a VA #3 all-time performance in 8:49.39. Tristan Yoder (Broadway) ran 8:57.94. Caroline Tribett (Gainesville) was the top Team VA finisher in the Girls Championship 2-mile running a time of 10:30.58. Sophomore Alexandra Bird (Robinson) finished with a time of 10:36.95.

MVP League (South County) had two tremendous performances in the Boys and Girls 4x200s. The boys ran first running a US#3 1:26.53 while the girls lead all qualifiers with a US#4 1:37.76. Finals are on Saturday and look for both to take home more All-American hardware for Team VA.

West Springfield had the top two teams for Team VA in the Distance Medley Relays running 11:51.49 and 12:30.75 good enough for 7th and 28, respectively.

West Springfield also lead Team VA in the Boys Championship Sprint Medley Relay with a time of 3:29.22. While MVP ran 4:08.46 in the Girls Championship Sprint Medley Relay to finish 8th overall.

In the field events, William Bostic (Prince George) show his consistency by jumping 6-06.00 to lead all Team VA High Jumpers in 13th place. Colonial Forge's Brian Harris jumped 22-09.75. Mia Mason (South County) lead Team VA with a jump of 17-11.50. In the Boys Championship Shot Put, Samuel Blount (Grassfield) finished in 8th with a PR put of 60-10.75. In the Girls Championship High Jump, Julia Lucas (Mountain View) jumped 5-02.25 to lead all Team VA performers.
