PRINCETON, N.J. - Seniors Matt Sagar and Matt Satterwhite wrapped up their VMI careers Friday evening, as they took part in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the IC4A Championships, held at Princeton University in Princeton, N.J.
Satterwhite finished seventh in the opening heat of the steeplechase, clocking in with a time of 9:15.37, while Sagar was 12th in 9:33.66. The race got off to a quick start, but Satterwhite was able to steadily move through the field, getting as high as third coming to the bell. Unfortunately, both he and Sagar were passed by several runners late, resulting in their final placings.
VMI track and field will return to action Saturday, as the IC4A Championships continue in New Jersey. VMI's first event will be the ECAC pole vault, which will include Keydet freshman Kate Collins. The vaulters will take to the air beginning at 11 a.m.
