Virginia Outdoor Breakthrough Performances: Week of March 23

Here are the results from Virginia high school track and field competition during the week of March 23.

Nhyira Boahen (Gar-Field, Woodbridge) ran 12.16 in the girls' 100 meters at Cardinal District #2 on March 25, improving from her previous best of 14.74 set in March 2026. The sophomore finished 6th of 35 competitors and ranks #41 in Virginia and #3 among sophomores statewide.

Sean Lowry (Colgan, Manassas) clocked 10.77 in the boys' 100 meters at Cardinal District #2 on March 25, breaking his previous personal record of 11.44 from March 2026. The senior's mark set a Colgan High School record and placed 4th of 41 competitors, ranking #38 in Virginia and #15 among seniors.

Jesse Robinson (Sherando, Stephens City) threw 141-4 in the boys' discus at the James Wood/Millbrook/Sherando/Handley Quad on March 25, improving from 117-10 set in April 2025. The sophomore won the event among 19 competitors and leads all Virginia sophomores in the event while ranking #100 statewide. Robinson also set a personal record in shot put, throwing 42-11 compared to his previous best of 39-6.

Benedicta Agyei (Potomac Senior, Dumfries) ran 12.31 in the girls' 100 meters at Cardinal District #2 on March 25, bettering her previous mark of 14.63 from March 2026. The freshman placed 10th of 35 competitors and ranks #66 in Virginia and #2 among freshmen statewide.

Tyler Wolovich (Tuscarora, Leesburg) threw 51-5.5 in the boys' shot put at the Potomac Falls quad meet on March 24, improving from 46-5.5. The junior won the event among 27 competitors and ranks #60 in Virginia and #8 among juniors. Wolovich also recorded a personal best in discus at 132-2.5, improving from 121-6.

Deva Clark (Freedom-Woodbridge) ran 12.29 in the girls' 100 meters at Cardinal District #2 on March 25, improving from 13.34. The junior finished 9th of 35 competitors and ranks #63 in Virginia and #14 among juniors statewide.

Zeyon Owens (Northumberland, Heathsville) ran 10.99 in the boys' 100 meters at Northumberland Regular Season Meet #1 on March 26, improving from 11.35 set in March 2026. The 2025 graduate won the event among 18 competitors and ranks #127 in Virginia. Owens also set a personal record in the 200 meters at 23.03, improving from 23.68.
