Wakefield boys and Yorktown girls roll over National District

BURKE LAKE, VA -- Both the Wakefield boys and Yorktown girls won National District titles in dominating fashion as they simply rolled over the competition.

The Wakefield boys almost completed the perfect sweep as they took the first 4 places as they were led by Abdi Dubed who won the race in a time of 15:49. It was all warrior green at the front of pack as they scored a total of only 20 points as they were well ahead of second place Yorktown with 60 points.

Other National District boys teams advancing to regionals are Edison (84 pts) and Stuart (106 pts).

The Yorktown girls were almost as impressive in their win as they went 1-2-3 for the first 3 individual spots with Meggy McGaffigan, Katie Read and Anna Rosen as McGaffigan finished in a time of 19:08. The Yorktown girls score of 24 points, put them well ahead of the competition.

Other National District girls teams advancing to regionals are Stuart (65 pts), Washington-Lee (85 pts), and Edison (106 pts).
