Greenwald VA #3 All-Time 2:27.45 1000 @ Armory

 

 Jeremy Greenwald's 2:27.45 runner-up performance in the New Balance Collegiate Games Junior 1000 last night at the New York Armory ranks him #3 all-time in Virginia high school indoor history behind only state record holder Alan Webb of South Lakes at 2:23.68 (2001) and past New Balance Junior 1000 winner Axel Mostrag of Fork Union at 2:26.11 (2007). Lee-Davis senior Cody Snyder competed in the same race as Greenwald and finished 7th place with a time of 2:30.75. In the girls 1000 meter run on Friday night, Midlothian sophomore Marie Johnston ran a state leading time of 2:54.97 with a sixth place finish, while Thomas Edison senior Myah Hicks ran a time of 2:57.73 in ninth place place.

 

In the 500 meter dash on Saturday, Atlee senior Marques Atkinson took runner-up to national leader Nagee Glass (1:03.33) from New Jersey with a VA #9 all-time performance of 1:03.72. The Midlothian girls ran a season best time of 9:36 in the 4x800 meter relay also on Saturday at the New York Armory.
