Virginia's Top Middle School Boys Throwers

The outdoor season has begun and that means it is time for a quick look into the Middle School Rankings and seeing who are our current leaders. Their season will culminate with the VA Middle School State Meet on May 23rd.

SHOT PUT

This is one of the most popular events in middle school track & field. That means you get a ton of competition in this event. We have close to 1,000 marks in our database this season for this event. Out of those, 123 are over 35 feet, 30 are over 40 feet, and just two are over 50 feet.

DISCUS THROW

Almost half of the athletes who compete in the shot put compete in the discus as well. This event is much more technical at this level and sees a wider variation in ability. Currently with one month left in the season there are 46 athletes over 100 feet, 18 over 110 feet, and just eight over 120 feet.
