TJ's Piersol and Addison are best in Colonial District

RICHMOND, VA -- The Thomas Jefferson cross country team had both the boys and girls individual winner at the Colonial District Meet held on Deep Run Park 5K course.

Junior John Piersol completed the course in a time of 16:42. His race led the way for his team to take second place finish with 66 points. They beat out Mills Godwin for runner up honors by a sixth man tiebreaker.

The boys team title went to Douglas Freeman as they placed all 7 runners in the top 12 spots. The Rebels were led by Graham Kearney who place 2nd in a time of 17:04.

Another TJ runner earned a district title in the girls race. Senior Jeannie Addison, coming off a strong win last weekend at the Georgetown Prep Classic, won her district meet in an excellent time of 19:44. Addison's sidekick, senior Ashley Seaton ran a good race as well taking 2nd in a time of 20:26 as Thomas Jefferson was just able to hold off defending state champions, Douglas Freeman (30-33).
