This Week's Nominees:
Kebryl Chandler, Parry McCluer (Virginia): Posted a fast 4:13.08 in the 1600 at the Dogwood Track Classic, placing 9th in a loaded field. Also won the 3200 in 8:55.33, taking the victory in a field of 247 runners.
Trent Daniels, Gainesville High School (Virginia): Won the 1600 at the Dogwood Track Classic in a state-leading 4:07.01, beating Virginia's previous leader Kebryl Chandler head-to-head. Also competed in the 800, running 1:56.62 in a deep field of 96.
Joshua-Kai Smith, Gar-Field (Virginia): Swept two events at the 23rd Gar-Field Twilight Invitational, winning the 110m hurdles in 13.43 and taking the 200 in 21.08. Both victories came against strong competition in his home meet.
Kobi Bonds, Auburn (Virginia): Threw 62-5 to win shot put at the Dogwood Track Classic, defeating state-ranked Aaron Stokes in the process. Also competed in discus, placing 6th with a throw of 154-4.
Aaron Stokes, Churchland (Virginia): Won the discus at the Dogwood Track Classic with a throw of 187-8, beating Kobi Bonds who was ranked higher in the shot put. Also threw 50-9.5 in the shot put competition.
