John Ciccarelli finished fifth in the men\'s 8K at the Lou Onesty Invitational and Katie Van Horn took eighth in the women\'s 5K.
University of Richmond senior John Ciccarelli (Southbury, Conn.) was named the Atlantic 10 Men\'s Cross Country Performer of the Week and freshman Katie Van Horn (Glendora, N.J.) was tabbed the A-10 Women\'s Cross Country Rookie of the Week, after their performances at the Lou Onesty Invitational on Saturday.
Ciccarelli, the defending Atlantic 10 men\'s cross country champion, finished fifth out of 113 runners in a time of 24:38.32 on the 8K course. He improved upon his time at last fall\'s Onesty Invitational by 33 seconds.
Van Horn took eighth out of 93 runners in a time of 18:30 in the women\'s 5K race. She was the second Spider to cross the finish line, behind junior Amanda Russell (North Bay, Ontario).
The Richmond women\'s team finished fourth out of eight teams and the Spider men\'s team took fifth out of nine teams at the Onesty Invitational, hosted by the University of Virginia.
