Two Virginians in Katie Doswell and Catherine White received the opportunity to compete in a highly competitive high school 1000 meter race on Saturday in the nation\'s fastest indoor track at the New York Armory.
Katie Doswell had a very strong weekend in New York City as after finishing sixth in the Millrose Games Mile on Friday night at the Madison Square Garden, the St. Catherine\'s came back on Saturday to finish fourth in the junior girls\' 1000 meter run at the New Balance Collegiate Games at the New York Armory with a US #4 time of 2:54.42.
Meanwhile, Northside senior Catherine White ran a big personal best in a rarely contested event for her with a time of 2:57.30 to finish sixth overall. However, the performance certainly shows that the US #1 3200 meter runner has a decent level of leg speed.
