Virginia\'s Tomika Ferguson Qualifies for NCAA Championships


School record-holder in the triple jump will compete for Cavaliers at nationals

Virginia\'s Tomika Fergsuon, who set the school record in the indoor triple jump en route to a fourth-place finish at the ACC Championships, has been selected to compete at the 2006 NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships which will be held at the Randal Tyson Indoor Track at the University of Arkansas on March 10-11.

Ferguson, who leapt 43\' 3.75\" (13.20m), beating the old mark by 3.5\", will compete on Saturday, March 11 with competition starting at 4:10 pm (CST).

\"This is a testament to Tomika\'s hard work and dedication,\" said head coach Randy Bungard. \"She has been working hard all season long and she has shown that she can compete with the best collegiate jumpers in the nation. I am very excited for her.\"
