Culver Academies Invitational, IN

Highlights

  • Ashley Erba (Warsaw) rolled to the win in the girls race with a very fast time of 17:13.7, 20 seconds up on in-state rival Anna Rohrer (Mishawaka) in 2nd in 17:32.10.  Erba's time was a course record and the fastest clocking ever by an Indiana girl over 5000 meters.  What an amazing rivalry that is developing in Indiana!  Carmel (IN) dominated the girls team race with 66 points and a 1-5 split of 36 seconds.  (Indiana trivia thanks to Tim Creason)
  • St. Xavier (OH) boys won against Carmel (IN) 101 to 153 with a 32 second spread and an average of 15:58.54.  Not to be outdone, Carmel averaged 16:08.42 with a 28 second spread!  Sam Wharton (Tippecanoe) won the boys race with a clocking of 15:14.40, putting himself on the national radar for the first time this season.  

 

Bowdoin XC Classic, NY

Highlighs

  • US#1 Christian Brothers Academy won the varsity boys race with a tremedous show of dominance, running 1-5 to finish with a team average of 16:14.64, impressive stuff for the squad from Lincroft, NJ!  Billy Bragg won the race in 16:03.11 with Jack Boyle 2nd in 16:13.16.

Highlights

  • Mary Cain (Bronxville) came out to play and won convincingly with a time of 17:59.8 in the girls Division 1 race.  Bronxville also won the team title with just 30 points scored.  
  • In the boys Division 1 race Eric Holt (Carmel) won with a time of 15:26.6 but Don Bosco Prep (NJ) took the team title with 46 points and an average of 16:17.7.  

 

Bob Firman Invitational, ID

Highlights

  • It was absolute pandamonium at Firman with North Central (WA)steamrolling several other top national squads as they won with 47 points and a smoking 14:57.62 team average! Arcadia (CA) finished 2nd with 127 points, Herriman was 3rd with 141 points and Davis (UT) was 4th with 142 points.  Joe Hardy (Seattle Prep) won overall with a time of 15:03.01 and Kai Wilmot (North Central) was 2nd in 15:06.35.  Ben Saarel (Park City) was 3rd in 15:08.26.
  • Katie Knight (North Central) won the girls race with a time of 17:59.46.  Summer Harper (Orem) was 2nd in 18:10.25 and Shea Martinez led Davis with a time of 18:13.43.  Davis (UT) won the team title with 65 points.

 

Nepo XC Invitational, UT

Highlights

  • American Fork (UT) won the boys varsity race with a point score of 29 points and a spread of 29 seconds.  The squad also averaged an impressive 16:15.60.  Kramer Morton (Alta) won the individual title with a time of 15:56.

 

Bell-Jeff/Loyola Invitational, CA

Highlights

  • Loyola (CA) looked fantastic, winning across all divisions with a score of 43 points.  Daniel DeLaTorre (La Salle) had the fastest time of the day, a 14:26 clocking on the 3 mile course.  

 

Anderson/Stavn Invitational, ND

Highlights

  • Bismarck dominated this invitational and looked good doing it, scoring 24 points with an average of 16:13.17 per man.  Jake Leingang took the overall individual title for the squad with a time of 15:20.41 to win by 40 seconds.

 

Cougar Falcon Invitational, MI

Highlights

  • Julia Bos (Grand Rapids Christian) won the girls elite race with a smoking time of 17:21.9, 52 seconds ahead of 2nd place.

 

Kenai Peninsula Borough Championships, AK

Highlights

  • Allie Ostrander (Kenai Central) dominated the girls race with a winning time of 18:02.5, 1:49 ahead of her closest pursuer.  

 

Socorro Stampede, NM

Highlights

  • US#15 Los Alamos (NM) battled with US#25 Sue Cleveland (NM) and quite the epic battle it was! Sue Cleveland took the top 2 places and wound up with the win with a score of 33 to 36.  Sue Cleveland averaged 16:19 for 1-5 and Los Alamos averaged 16:21.  Luis Martinez led the Cleveland squad with a winning time of 15:45.11 while Aaron Flores was 2nd for the team with a time of 15:55.96.  
  • Los Alamos won the girls race with a score of 26 points over Sue Cleveland.  Malia Gonzales won the race for Cleveland with a time of 19:16.12.  

 

PIAA Foundation XC Invitational, PA

Highlights

  • In the boys gold race US#9 Cardinal O'Hara showed impressive strength, averaging 16:50.8 on the Hershey layout with a 29.6 second spread and 40 points scored.  Connor Harriman (Pennsbury) won the individual title in 16:23.1.
  • In the boys blue race Daniel Jaskowak (Grove City) and Brendan Shearn (North Schuylkill) battled back and forth over the hills with Jaskowak taking the win 16:19 to 16:27 on the challenging layout.  
  •  In the girls gold race Courtney Smith (Unionville) won impressively in 18:40 over Kara Steinke (Methacton), 19:00.  Unionville put together a solid performance to win the team title with 43 points

Highlights

  • Boys AAAA action: Stillwater (MN) rolled with 37 points and an average of 16:03.2 over 5000 meters.  Wayde Hall (Stillwater) won the individual race with a time of 15:25.3 with Steven Cotter (Andover) 2nd in 15:45.7.
  • Girls AAAA action: Jenna Truedson (Bemidji) won the girls race with a time of 14:06.1 for 4k and Anna French (Wayzata) was 2nd in 14:16.5.  Wayzata won the team crown with 75 points.
  • Boys AA action: Perham boys are looking good as well in MN as they won their division with 30 points and an average of 16:13.1, just 10 seconds off the average of national powerhouse Stillwater!

 

Blackstone Valley Invitational, RI

Highlights

  • In the boys varsity race Trevor Crawley (Cumberland) led his team to a perfect score of 15 points with his winning time of 15:15.8, a course record clocking by 10 seconds.  He won his race by nearly 2 minutes.

 

Oatlands Invitational, VA

  • Sean McGorty and Chantilly dominated the boys A race with Mcgorty winning in 15:26 as his team won with 80 points and an average of 16:32.  

 

Rim Rock Farm XC Classic, KS

Highlights

  • Alli Cash (Shawnee Mission West) won the 4k girls varsity race with a course record time of 13:59 to beat a solid field including 2011 Foot Locker finalist Nichole Mello (MO).

 

Kingwood/Andy Wells Invitational, TX

Highlights

  • Sandie Raines (Humble Kingwood) won a showdown with Maddie McLellan (The Woodlands) with smoking times of 13:29.73 to 13:31.43 over the 4k layout.  The Woodlands showed total domination on the team side, placing 5 runners behind Raines to win with just 20 points and a solid 14:12.29 average.  Humble Kingwood scored 45 points for 2nd.  
  • In boys action Brigham Hedges (The Woodlands) won a tight one over Ryan Teel (Friendswood) 14:28.45 to 14:28.71.  The Woodlands placed 5 in the top-9 to win with 30 points and an impressive 14:54.27 average.

 

Hare and Hounds Invitational, NC

Highlights

  • In the boys Championship race Asheville, a school with <275 total enrollment, averaged an impressive 16:25.40 per man on their way to the win 35 points.  They had just 26 seconds for their 1-4 runners and a 1:08 1-5 spread.  Ben Fiedler and Robert Cook led the way with times of 16:02 and 16:09.  
  • Logan Morris, a frosh from Spartanburg, won the Championship girls race with a time of 18:22.  

 

Manchester Invitational, NH

Coverage

Highlights

  • Bishop Hendricken won the boys elite race with 35 points to defeat Lowell, who had 73 points.  Malcolm Plunkett (South Burlington) won the race in a duel with Patrick Coppinger (Lowell) with both runners timed in 15:50.  
  • In girls action Taylor Spillane and Autumn Eastman led the way for Champlain Valley with a 1-2 finish in 18:07 and 18:23 respectively. Burnt Hills (NY) survived a scare from Champlain Valley as both teams scored 59 points and the 6th-man tiebreaker gave it to the ladies of Burnt Hills.  

 

Mustang Invitational, WI

Highlights

  • Carl Hirsch (Brookfield Central) won the boys varsity race with a time of 15:42.28, 24 seconds better than 2nd place.  

 

Midwest Invitational, WI

Highlights

  • Madison La Follette won the team title for the boys with 115 points, but an impressive 16:19 average helped the performance stand out.  Chandler Diffee won the individual title with a clocking of 15:35.  
  • Arrowhead won the girls title with 38 points over Neenah with 66 points.  Allison Parker and Jennifer Parker went 1-2 for Neenah with times of 14:33.09 and 14:34.77 for the 4k course.  

 

Amherst Invitational, MA

Highlights

  • Jordan O'Dea (Dennis Yarmouth) won the girls race by 31 seconds with a quick winning time of 18:06.

 

Palatine Invitational, IL

Coverage

Highlights

  • In the girls race Kaylee Flanagan (Lake Park) won with a quick 16:49 clocking, 35 seconds ahead of the next fastest finisher.  Assumption won the team crown with 50 points scored and a 1-5 spread of 43 seconds.
  • Grant Nykaza (Beecher) battled St. Ignatious' Jack Keelan to the line with times of 14:36.40 and 14:37 over the 3 mile course.  St. Xavier (KY) continues to build their resume of defeated teams, this time taking down York with a score of 84 to 96 with a spread of 29 seconds.  York had a spread of 44 seconds.

Highlighs

  • Josh Brickell (Peachtree Ridge) won the overall title with a time of 15:43.50.  Arman Rehmann (Norcross) was 2nd with a time of 15:49.39.  Mill Creek won the team title with a point total of 59.
  • Katherine Yost (Norcorss) won the girls race by 37 seconds with a time of 18:29.01.  Brookwood dominated the team action with 34 points.

Highlights

  • Brent Demarest (Porter-Gaud School) won the boys varsity race with a school record time of 15:33.60.  
  • Laura Miller (J.L. Mann) won the girls race with a time of 18:07.37.  

 

Butte Invitational, MT

Highlights

  • Zach Perrin (Flathead) won the boys varsity race in 14:52.98 over the 3-mile layout at 5,500 ft elevation.  Adam Peterman (Missoula Hellgate) was 2nd in 14:59.57.

 

Northwest Classic, OR

Highlights

  • In the girls 5A-6A race Ella Donaghu (Grant) won the race with a time of 17:59, just edging out Paige Rice (St. Mary's Academy) who was clocking in 18:00 for 2nd.  Grant also took the team title with 64 points.  
  • In the boys 5A-6A race Jesuit won with a total of 70 points.  Matthew Maton (Summit) won the individual race over teammate Eric Alldritt, 15:19 to 15:24.

Highlights

  • Tatnall (DE) girls dominated, taking the top-3 places overall to score 46 points.  Reagan Anderson led the way with her winning time of 18:58.
  • In the boys race Alex Giacco (Tatnall) won in a time of 16:22 to lead his team to the victory with 69 points.

Gulf Coast XC Stampede, FL

Highlights

  • In the girls varsity race Carmen Carlos (McGill-Toole) won with a convincing 18:41.10 clocking.  
  • The Fort Walton boys were impressive, winning with 42 points and a 16:42 average with a spread of 15 seconds!

 

South Jersey Shootout, NJ

Coverage

Highlights

  • Nick Costello (Delsea) had the fastest time of the day with a time of 15:58 and Delsea had the low point total of 89.   

 

Apple Valley Eagle Invitational, MN

Highlights

  • Maria Hauger (Shakopee) won the girls 4k race with a time of 13:58.4 over Danielle Anderson (Eagan), 14:14.
  • Eden Prairie won the boys varsity race with 61 points.  Shane Streich (Waseca) won the boys race with a time of 16:04.
