Wondering if any of you have any suggestions for indoor meets along the east coast that don't have restrictions on athletes competing unattached or with a club? In other words, all the VHSL sanctioned meets are out >:-o I am aware of all the all-comers indoor meets at PG sports and learning and TJ, and also one or two at the JDL fast track in Winston Salem. Maybe the NY Armory has something. But what I am really looking for is a competitive invitational or two where one could hope to run a qualifying time for NB indoors against other kids hoping to do the same. Are ALL the indoor invitationals in Virginia sanctioned? Any ideas? Thanks.

@Runth8- The KYA Indoor track invite (Jan 17-18)in Johnson City is pretty high level and sanctioned. IT is a beautiful oversize 280+ meter track and is extremely fast: http://www.knoxvilleyouthathletics.org/meetsraces/knoxville-youth-athletics-high-school-indoor-classic A plus is that it's held in conjunction with the Neiswonger Track Invite (college and pro) and anyone participating gets the full experience!

@PrideXC is the Age Group USATF and AAU Indoor meets out of the? These meets are sanctioned by the above associations. www.coacho.com will have registration for these meets. They will be 2 in January and maybe 3 in February. Check with Coach William Moore of the Boo Williams Sportsplex in Hampton, VA. This is the Indoor Facility the meets will be held in.

You can compete in almost all high school meets in north Carolina as unattatched or club athlete as long as you are of school age. It would be nice to see meets like this in Virginia. Vhsl has to many regulations. Indoor invatational meets in virginia should be open to all school age athletes with aau# or usatf# school athletes can enter college open meets as unattached atheles

pay the 25 dollar VHSL school fee, then enter your team under your school name even though you are not getting paid to coach or have what you call an in place indoor team funded by the school. This makes you legal.

Thanks, everyone. I am looking into all of these options (including being added to the MEL so we can compete in VHSL meets). Feeling like it's possible to put together some sort of season, thankfully.
