Loudoun Valley sophomore Andrew Hunter has quickly become the state's best underclassmen distance running talent this fall and a runner to keep on the radar for the next few years to see if he develops to become a elite competitor on the national stage. Hunter was the second highest finisher from the state of Virginia in a loaded Oatlands Invitational this past weekend cross the finish line ahead many of the state's best runners in a new 5K personal best time of 15:45, which is the 16th fastest time among all 10th graders in the United States this cross country season.

Returning Foot Locker finalist Allie Klimkiewicz opened her season with the state's fastest 5K time after week in a 18:17 victory at the Great Meadow Invitational. Klimkiewicz and the Oakton girls won big as in over 100 points big in the varsity A division (runners-up Colonial Forge had 157 points). Oakton had 4 runners in the top 15.
