Meet Information

ENTRY DEADLINE
The entry window will close at 11:59 PM, Sunday, February 3, 2013. No changes to the entries may be made after this deadline.

ENTRY PROCECURES
Meet entries will be submitted utilizing the Milestat.com online entry system. No other entry method will be accepted.

Note that these instructions are on the US Portal and you will have to return to your state site to actually find your team and enter the meet.

Only performances from the 2012-2013 Indoor Season Milestat database will be available in the online entry system.

Teams may enter 3 athletes per individual event provided those athletes have a performance mark from the 2012-2013 Indoor Track season.

Up to 6 athletes may be entered in an individual event provided all entries in that event have met the district standard.

Teams may enter 1 relay per relay event provided those relays have a performance mark from the 2012-2013 Indoor Track season.

Only athletes entered into the meet database by the entry deadline will be eligible to compete in the meet. Enter athletes who are not competing in an individual event through a relay event. Up to 8 athletes can be entered per relay in this manner.

Remember to mark All-Academic candidates with an asterisk (*).

Meet directors for Polar Bear meets must ensure that Polar Bear meet results are submitted to Milestat.com. Bob Weaver can assist with submitting these Polar Bear results.

VHSL DECLARATION RULE
The new VHSL Declaration Rule is in effect. All running event entries declared will have those events count towards their entry limit whether or not they actually compete in them.

SCRATCHS
Scratches will be accepted by email up to midnight, Monday, February 4.

RELAY DECLARATION AND ALTERNATES
Relay teams will be officially declared on a relay card when the team reports to the Clerk of Course for check-in.

A maximum of six athletes from your entry list may be listed on the relay card, any four of which may run.

The relay will count as an event only for those athletes who actually run the relay.

All athletes listed on the relay card must be in the meet database.

Entering an athlete in a relay who is not in the meet database will cause that relay to be disqualified.

UNIFORMS AND EQUIPMENT
NFHS uniform rules will be enforced.

No spikes are allowed in the Ashe Center.

Starting blocks and indoor shots will be furnished; all other equipment must be supplied by competing schools.

AWARDS
Medals to the top 3 individuals and relays in each event.

Event champions will be recognized as All-District.

Plaques to the Outstanding Field Events and Running Performers.

Coach of the Year will be awarded to the winning coaches.

All awards and certificates will be distributed to coaches at the conclusion of the meet.

ALL-ACADEMIC
Athletes with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher are candidates. Mark eligible athletes with an asterisk (*) in the Milestat database prior to the meet entry deadline. Eligible District Champions will receive All-Academic honors.

REGIONAL QUALIFYING
The top six (6) finishers in each individual event and the top six (6) relays and any athlete or relay team meeting the 2012 - 2013 Regional Qualifying Standards will advance to the Regional Championship Meet. Regional entry instructions will be included in your meet packets.

FIRST AID
A trainer will be on site but each school must provide their own first-aid supplies.

MISCELLANEOUS
Non-competing athletes and parents are not permitted in the competition area.

Athletes may not warm up at a field event venue without a coach or meet official supervising.

Dressing areas are not available. Come dressed to compete. Leave jewelry and other valuables at home.

Coaches with runners in the 1600 and 3200 Meter Runs must provide a lap counter for their team.
