2013 MileStat.com Cross Country Invitational

Date: Saturday, October 19th, 2013

*NEW* MEET Location: This year's MileStat.com Cross Country Invitational will be held at a new location/venue/course at Pole Green Park in Mechanicsville, Virginia. Pole Green Park has been the home for the Central Region Championships over the past decade and hosted at USATF Junior Olympic Nationals Champions, but has yet to have a large weekend invitational on its course grounds. We believe bringing the MileStat.com Invitational to Pole Green Park will give us a course which will handle many more runners and teams as well as spectators and parking. We know this course ran run fast as shown in many Central Region Championships and we expect the competition that we bring to this meet to make it fast. Pole Green Park will also likely be a site for many future regionals and conference championships in new 6 class system re-alignment.

Parking: There is NO fee for parking at Pole Green Park! There will be two nearby lots (one smaller gravel lot closest to the course which will fill up early and another nearby adjacent large grassy field for majority parking). No buses will be permitted to park in the gravel lot and will need to park in the grassy field. Both parking areas are close walking distance to course and there will be parking volunteers directing you where to park and where for buses to unload and pick up.

Use the below as a map guide for parking. There will be meet officials directing buses and spectators to specific areas to park. Please be aware that there will be other sporting events going on at the same time at Pole Green Park on the soccer/football fields and softball fields, so some of these lots will be filled or utilized by those people attending those events as well but the parking lots closest to the XC course will be virtually all those attending the XC meet.

Trainer & EMS on-site: We will have a certified trainer and EMS unit on-site for any injuries or emergencies. Please bring your own athletic tape. We we will have a sweeping gator utility vehicle in every race to pick up any distressed or injured runners on the course.

Keep dogs at home: Dogs have no place at THIS cross country meet. One year someone let loose their greyhound who ended up jumping into one of the races and could have taken out and injured some runners. Keep the hounds at home.

DJ & Music: We will have a DJ on-site at this year's meet providing pump up music to create an even better meet atmosphere.

Trash: Please have your athletes police their area and make sure no trash is left when your team is leaving the park. Trash bags are available in your packet and extras will be available at the team packet pick-up table. We are fortunate to have this venue to host this event and we need to make sure we keep this beautiful park clean!
