Squires Invitational 2015

Roanoke, VA

Meet Information

Squires Invitational will held again at the Cave Spring High School Track and Field Facility. We have made several adjustments from last year to the schedule and setup to make for a quick and full meet. Please be considerate of the start time as this meet will move expeditiously. The meet director advises all teams to arrive by at least 3:30 PM.

Eligibility:
Only 6th 7th and 8th grade students are allowed to participate.

Entries:
Each school is allowed three entries per event. Only one relay per event per team will be allowed. VHSL rules regarding event limitations will apply. All athletes must belong to their middle school team and must be accompanied by a coach from that school. Please contact Coach Loesel at Runnerlwl@aol.com or lloesel@rcs.k12.va.us for the meet file to download into Hy-Tek Team Manager. Entries are due by Monday, March 23th, 2015 at midnight.

T-shirts will be on sale.

A snack bar will be available.

Location:
Cave Spring High School- 3712 Chaparral Drive Roanoke, VA 24018. Coming from I-81- take Exit 143. After exiting, travel on 581 for approximately 10.1 miles. Take Electric Rd/419 exit (Tanglewood Mall). Take a right off of the exit ramp onto 419 North. Travel 1.3 miles and take a left onto Chaparral Drive (Look for the 7-Eleven). Drive .9 miles on Chaparral Drive. Cave Spring is on the left.

Bus Parking:
The Cave Spring High School Administration has indicated that they would like the buses to arrive before 3 PM on Friday. All buses that arrive before 3 PM will need to park in the Penn Forest Wesleyan Church across the street until 4:00. After 4:00, they may then move over to the faculty parking lot at Cave Spring High School located at the Chaparral side of the school. This will allow CSHS students and faculty the ability to drain from the parking lots and avoid congestion as they let out at 3:25.

With the realization that many teams (including our own) will not be able to make 3 PM deadline, teams will need to drop their students off at the Penn Forest Wesleyan Church and walk across the street to get to the Track. All students arriving at that time should be accompanied by a coach and walk to the crossing guard by the main entrance.

Under no circumstances are buses allowed to park in the main CSHS lot. They are allowed to drop off their Track and Field athletes and then proceed to either the church lot or the faculty lot (after 4 PM).

Entry Fees:
An entry fee of $100 per team ($175 for boys and girls teams together)
OR
Individuals: $10 per event or $20 per relay

Five or more student-athletes from a school are considered a team.

This is an entry fee, not a participation fee.
