Blacksburg High School- Traveling I-81, take Exit 118 (also Va Tech exit). This goes onto a collector lane that you will follow to Exit 118-B (to Blacksburg). Stay on this road. You will be traveling West on 460 Bypass.Stay on Route 460 heading west. Take the 2nd Price's Fork Road exit after going under the overpass (this is the 2nd exit after the stoplight at Virginia Tech). Exit will bring you out on Price's Fork Road. Continue on Price's Fork Road past Foxridge Apartments (on the left), shopping center (on the left), volunteer fire department (on the right), Kipps Elementary School (on the left), and Blacksburg Middle School (on the left). Continue past BMS and take a left on Bruin Lane at the stoplight. Continue down Bruin Lane to Blacksburg High School.Bus Parking:Bus Loop parking lot (lot in front of the track and gym). Please look for signs/ volunteers.
Entry Fees:An entry fee of $125 per team ($225 for boys and girls teams together)ORIndividuals: $5 per event per athlete or $20 per relay This is an entry fee, not a participation fee. The team fee allows teams to enter up to three athletes per event. If a school would like to enter more than three in an event they need to pay $5.00 extra per athlete after the initial three entries.

The DMR is run 1200, 400, 800, 1600
We are also offering the opportunity to add a second 4 x 100 relay, for boys and / or girls, that can filled with just throwers. Please use athletes who are participating in just throwing events for this additional relay. You can e-mail us to add this relay or sign up at the coaches meeting.
ADMISSION:There will be a $5 admission fee to all spectators.
Awards:The first six places will receive medals in each individual event and top three relay teams.The top three place teams will each receive a trophy.Individual MVP awards will be presented to:1. Top M/F track event student-athlete2. Top M/F field event student-athlete
Scoring:The first six places will score. The standard point distribution of 10, 8, 6, 4, 2, 1 in each event will count towards the overall team score.
Seeding:All running events will be run as TIMED FINALS fast to slow. Finals in FIELD EVENTS will be for the TOP EIGHT.
Please be as accurate as possible with your entry marks! Field event seeding will be least to greatest.Long/Triple Jump:Each jumper will be given three (3) jumps each in the preliminaries. Three (3) more jumps in the finals. ALL ATHLETES FIRST LEGAL JUMP WILL BE MEASURED. ATHLETES NOT MEETING THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM MARKS WILL NOT BE MEASURED.GIRLS LJ- 13'00GIRLS TJ- 29'00BOYS LJ- 18'00BOYS TJ- 37'00
High Jump:The five-alive format will be followed. Please consult the VHSL officials handbook for more information. Starting heights for girls: 4'2, boys 5'0.
Throws:All throwers will be given three each in the preliminaries. Three (3) more throws will be given in the finals. Implement weigh-in begins at 9:00 AM- see tentative schedule.ALL ATHLETES FIRST LEGAL THROW WILL BE MEASURED. ATHLETES NOT MEETING THE FOLLOWING MINIMUM MARKS WILL NOT BE MEASURED.BOYS SHOT- 35'00BOYS DISCUS- 1000GIRLS SHOT- 27'00GIRLS DISCUS- 70'0
Pole-Vault:Pole vault will not be contested
Spikes:Spikes no longer then inch will be allowed 1/8th inch preferable. Immediate disqualification will result if longer spikes are used. Coaches, please help us with this!
Concession Stand:There will be a full concession stand for all student-athletes, parents, coaches, spectators. Long sleeve technical Invitational shirts will also be available for sale.
Coaches Hospitality:There will be a coaches' hospitality lunch available. Please check your team packets for tickets. First come-first serve.
Check-in:
Athletes must check-inno less then 30 min prior to their event: Running event athletes will check-in at the check-in tent located across from the finish line on the warm-up field. Field event athletes will check in at the event site with the head official. Failure to check-in will result in the athlete being scratched. Coaches help us with this!
